Our Fabrics
Carvico
Based in northern Italy’s Lombardy region, Carvico produces high-performance, sustainable fabrics for activewear.
At WECY, we partner with Carvico for their commitment to sustainability and circularity. Using recycled materials like ECONYL®, made from ocean plastics and landfill waste, Carvico creates high-quality fabrics that match the durability of virgin materials but with significantly lower energy and water usage. Their eco-friendly production methods include renewable energy, energy-efficient systems, and advanced water reclamation, aligning with strict European environmental standards. With these practices, Carvico ensures environmental responsibility without compromising on quality.
Pontetorto
Located in Montemurlo, Tuscany, Pontetorto has been producing high-quality technical fabrics since 1952, combining Italian craftsmanship with modern sustainability. Renowned for its eco-friendly practices, Pontetorto holds certifications such as ISO 14001 for environmental management, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 for safe materials, and Bluesign® for eco-friendly production. They use Global Recycled Standard (GRS) materials and the Higg Index to enhance sustainability throughout the product lifecycle.
Pontetorto integrates recycled materials like carded wool and recycled polyester, focusing on reducing waste and energy consumption. Their Biopile fabric, a biodegradable fleece, addresses microplastics by using fibers that degrade within three months, minimizing environmental impact. Renewable energy, including 35% solar power, further supports their low carbon footprint, making Pontetorto a leader in sustainable sportswear fabrics.

Why we use European fabrics
At WECY, we prioritize European production to support our commitment to quality, sustainability, and ethical practices. By working with European partners, we build strong, collaborative relationships that ensure transparency and trust throughout the production process. This close cooperation helps us maintain high standards and create durable products that align with our values.
Choosing European production also allows for shorter transportation routes, which reduces carbon emissions and supports our goal of minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, strict European regulations mean that fewer harmful chemicals are used during manufacturing, ensuring safer practices for both the environment and the people involved.
By keeping production local, we not only promote sustainable practices but also contribute to a more responsible and connected fashion industry
Why we use recycled fabrics
By using recycled fabrics significantly reduces the environmental impact of creating new materials. For example, producing recycled plastic for activewear requires up to 75% less energy than using virgin materials, which conserves natural resources and reduces the demand for fossil fuels.
With WECY, you’re wearing more than just activewear; you’re making a statement that respects the planet’s resources. Together, let’s embrace the beauty of circularity and choose a future where fashion and sustainability walk hand in hand.
ECONYL® – closing the loop with endless possibilities
- Nylon is a technical material, meaning it is a synthetic material that should be perpetually recycled at the end of use.
- ECONYL® use an innovative technology to turn nylon waste into first-grade nylon yarn, that offers the same quality as virgin nylon. It can then be recycled infinitely, making it a truly circular material. Our collection of RE-LOVE STORY are created with ECONYL® yarn.
